The product was originally specifically formulated to repel pesky no-see-ums and it was soon realized it also worked amazingly at repelling mosquitoes, black flies, biting gnats, and has shown effectiveness with ticks.

No No-See-Um Natural Insect Repellent is made with superb quality, EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) approved, essential oils, extracted solely from plants. It is also Vegan certified.

DEET (N,N-diethyl-m-toluamide) is a highly toxic chemical found in most bug repellents. When ingested, it may affect the central nervous system. It can cause skin irritation in sensitive persons. High concentrations applied to the skin can cause blistering, followed by severe scarring. DEET has also been implicated in seizures among children.

Our natural ingredients are safe, gentle and effective and are not harmful to humans, pets or the environment. Our formula works on insects without harming or killing them. Biting insects follow the scent of carbon dioxide gas and our skin and breath naturally give off this gas. Our product has a distinctive, but very pleasant, odor which makes it difficult for pesky insects to locate the carbon dioxide released from our bodies.

Unlike DEET, our product is safe to use with sunscreen. Keep in mind that natural insect repellents work by utilizing the extracts of plants whose scent is known to be a deterrent to insects. When used in conjunction with other scented products it may reduce the effective. Oily sunscreens will not allow No No-See-Um to adhere to the skin. If using a dry sunscreen, for best results apply the sunscreen first and allow to dry completely before applying our spray.

No No-See-Um is a water-based product so it is NOT greasy or sticky.

Everyone’s skin and physiology is different and will react differently to certain ingredients. Even all natural ingredients can cause irritations. We always recommend doing a patch test prior to using any product. Place a small amount on the inside of the wrist or inner thigh and watch for a reaction. If you see any redness, discontinue using the product.

No No-See-Um can be applied directly to the skin or to clothing. For best results, shake well and apply generously and repeat as often as necessary. Avoid contact with eyes. Keep out of reach of children. No no-see-um has been proven to provide up to four hours of protection against no-see-ums, mosquitos, and black flies.

When applying No No-See-Um to your face, it is suggested to put the spray on your fingers and avoid touching the product to, or around, your eyes.

A patch test prior to using any product on your skin is always recommended. Spray a small amount on a small area of visible skin such as your wrist, or inner-thigh and watch for a reaction. If you observe any redness or other sign of reaction, discontinue use of the product.

Even natural products can cause skin irritations, especially so when someone is allergic. Infants and babies have very sensitive skin and parents are sometimes unaware of an allergy their child hasn’t yet experienced. A patch test is absolutely recommended for all infants, babies, and children. Perform the test by applying a small amount of spray on a small area of skin and watch closely for a reaction. If there is any redness or other sign of reaction, discontinue use. If your infant is allergic to Citronella, Lemongrass, or Geranium Rose, do not use this product. Check with the child’s pediatrician before use and if in question.

Stop use immediately. Contact your local physician.

• If eyes – rinse gently with water for 15-20 minutes.
• If swallowed – call Poison Control at 1-800-222-1222.
• On skin – in very rare cases, skin irritation has occurred. Rinse skin with water for 15-20 minutes.

Simple answer. NO!!!!

No No-See-Um does NOT conduct product or ingredient tests of any kind on animals.

Our products are made from all natural ingredients that are safe for both humans and pets. However, please note, we have never tested our products on animals. The spray has shown effectiveness for use on pets such as dogs and horses. Since No No-See-Um does not test directly on animals,  its pet information is retrieved from personal use of customers and their pets. The ingredients are considered safe for light use on most animals. Use on animals such as cats, is not recommended because of their grooming methods. Before using the spray on your pet, it is strongly suggested you consult with your veterinarian per your specific pet.

Spray the animal’s fur from a distance of several inches, avoiding their eyes and genitalia.

When applied to inanimate objects, No No-See-Um is effective at repelling insects temporarily. The porosity of each object will affect the amount of time it remains effective. The scent of the spray will last longer than its repelling abilities.

If you spill a bottle of spray, use an absorbent cloth or towel to soak up the spill and dispose of or wash the cloth thoroughly. Use a grease removing detergent on any surface that the spray has spilled on in excess. If the spray liquid has been spilled on clothing, rinse the garment(s) and wash immediately with a grease removing detergent. If it has been spilled on a very porous surface, inspect and determine the object’s durability and rinse and wash if possible.

Do not contaminate water, food or feed by storage or disposal. Store No no-see-um in a cool, dark place, such as a hall or linen closet.

Currently, No No-See-Um is now sold in 2oz travel size and original 4oz bottles and we do not provide free samples

The spray bottle and all of its parts are recyclable. We ask that you always recycle an empty bottle of spray. No No-See-Um purposely uses recyclable materials and promotes a green Earth. If recycling is not available, we ask that you please dispose of the empty spray bottle in a trash receptacle.
